Raja Dahir was the last Hindu ruler of Sindh, in present-day Pakistan, who reigned during the 7th century. He is most known for his confrontation with the Umayyad Caliphate during the invasion of Sindh led by Muhammad bin Qasim in 711 CE. Raja Dahir’s kingdom was prosperous and had strong ties to trade and culture, but he faced internal challenges and external threats. Despite a strong defense, he was defeated in battle by Muhammad bin Qasim, marking the beginning of Muslim rule in the Indian subcontinent. Raja Dahir is remembered for his resistance and as a symbol of defiance against foreign invasions.
